Hey all,
Just thought it's about time to update the journal. Been very busy, just studied for three months in Cortona, Italy. Most beautiful little town in the heart of Tuscany. Saw quite a bit of artwork in cities such as Roma, Firenze and Milano. It's great to be back, although I'm still in culture shock to be honest. After spending two weeks in Louisvile visiting Andrea, I'm finally back home in Connecticut and painting in full. I have some updated work (from Italy) and have some good news.
While in Italy I found out that my Roaring Timeshift Twenties piece was accepted into the 46th Society of Illustrators Los Angeles show. Don't know much else though, but it's great news and I've submitted final images of the piece! Also, today I got a call from Joni, from the Illustrators of the Future contest. I'm a winner for the 4th quarter contest! I'm extremely excited for this, as I now have the opportunity to illustrate an image to go along with one of the Writer's of the Future winners' story. Judges will pick the best image and the winner receives $5000. Wish me luck, people from all over the world are competing for this!!
Here's the blog, check it out:
wotfblog.galaxypress.com/Have a lot of work to do before this story assignment comes my way!! Expect an update soon though, I have an epic triptych in the works to be completed soon! In the meantime, here are a few things to consider:
You will see it in Threes, it'll make sense this way...
Metals corrode, wood fades and rocks become weathered, but all together look beautifully new.
Think of all the things that can't fly, now imagine if they could.
